I love Sagittarius, I really do, and why wouldn’t I? I have a Sagittarius moon, and all of my best friends have a Sagittarius moon. This is a great sign, however, it is also a very complex sign.

Reading about Sagittarians, they’re optimists (I guess?) and energetic and blah blah blah. Lots of stuff about fire and optimism.

I find Sagittarius to be a knowledge-seeking sign. They are philosophers by nature. These are the people who like to educate, whether through a teaching profession or otherwise. There is an air of youth to the Sagittarius, and even if they are old souls, something about them is very young. I think it’s their senses of humor that keep them going. Having some Sagittarius, we have to make light of an issue somehow and humor is the way to do that. When things get complex, it’s not something that gets talked about. I see Sagittarius people are notorious secret-keepers simply due to the fact that when you talk to them, you never suspect anything is going on because they never discuss it.

Every Sagittarius I know has faced a hardship somehow. I don’t know what it is, but unfortunately Sagittarians tend to suffer from a variety of things having to do with the mind. I have seen this range from eating disorders to OCD to anxiety to depression, but it always seems to be something. In spite of this, many Sagittarians are strong-willed. A friend told me that the theme of Sagittarius is finding light in the dark. Indeed, there is some symbolism going on. Sagittarius occurs in the late fall, when the days start to get dark (in the Western hemisphere anyhow). This is the time when light starts to get scarce during the day.  Sagittarius embodies a spirit made to overcome these things. Sagittarians are fighters (shit, even Christina Aguilera, a Sagittarius wrote a song about being a fighter). 

And then there is the independence part of Sagittarius. Popular astrology wasn’t wrong about it, but again, it’s the WAY they say it. Saggies aren’t the LEAVE ME ALONE types of people. It’s simply this: they like to have their own space when the time calls for it. Sagittarians appear to have commitment issues because they have a no-bullshit tolerance and so when they get into a relationship and someone starts bullshit, they don’t stand for it (and this is why I love Sagittarians). This is a sign of respect. If you are to be in a friendship or romantic relationship with a Sagittarius, know that respect is key and they only pay respect when they are paid respect.

This might be slightly off because most of my Sagittarius friends are Sagittarius moons or risings.
